APAC’s Hotel Industry Takes Off Again. 20 New Hotels and Venues for 2025

The Asia-Pacific region’s hotel business will surpass Europe’s by 2026, according to the latest Skift research. 

“During the pandemic, the Asia-Pacific region surpassed Europe in accommodation revenue. While Europe was quick to recover, we anticipate the Asia-Pacific region will overtake Europe once again in 2026,” the report said.  

To meet growing demand, there are 2,074 projects, with 408,213 rooms, currently in the hotel pipeline in the region, according to the latest Lodging Econometrics Construction Pipeline Trend Report.

Among the latest hotels and venues to open, or opening soon, are ​three new convention centers in New Zealand’s largest cities: Auckland, Christchurch, and Wellington. A number of the new properties blend nature and wellness: Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree in Singapore, Raffles Sentosa Singapore, Jim Corbett Marriott Resort & Spa in India, JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island Resort in the Maldives, and The Sundays on Hamilton Island, in the heart of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. All offer a mix of luxury and nature immersion in incomparable locations.

1. 1 Hotel Melbourne

Melbourne, Australia

Opening in May 2025, 1 Hotel Melbourne offers 277 guest rooms and 18,000 square feet of event space across seven rooms. The central hotel offers amenities including a gym, pool, spa, and dining. The hotel’s nature-inspired spaces provide river views and wellness experiences.  

2. Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur

Jaipur, India

Located on the outskirts of Jaipur, “The Pink City,” Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur offers 150 rooms and suites, while boasting 64,000 square feet of mostly outdoor event space across seven venues. The hotel offers two swimming pools, exquisite dining and a spa while providing easy access to the area’s historical and cultural attractions.

3. Fairmont Mumbai

Mumbai, India

The Art-Deco-inspired Fairmont Mumbai is a newly opened luxury hotel at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport. It offers 446 guest rooms and 75,000 square feet of event space including two ballrooms, the largest of which can hold up to 2,000, theater-style. The hotel offers six dining options and a modern spa that blends modern longevity therapies with Ayurvedic renewal rituals.

4. Fairmont Tokyo

Tokyo, Japan

Opening this July, Fairmont Tokyo will be located on the upper floors of the South Tower of the Shibaura Project. The luxury hotel will offer 217 guest rooms and multiple event space including a 10,000-square-foot large ballroom with its own pre-function foyer, capable of hosting 1,200 guests theater-style. The hotel will also offer a spa, a fitness center, swimming pools, and five restaurants and bars.

5. Fairmont Udaipur Palace

Udaipur, India

Expected to open sometime in 2025, the Fairmont Udaipur Palace (image above) is a hillside property, spread over 16 acres with city views and exclusive access to the forest reserve. It is set to offer more than 100,000 square feet of banquet and event space, dining facilities, and a spa.

6. Hopewell Hotel

Hong Kong, China

Opened in December 2024, the Hopewell Hotel is now one of the area’s largest business hotels in Hong Kong’s Wan Chair district. Connected to the shops and offices of Hopewell Center, the property features 1,000 guest rooms, a fitness center, club lounge, five dining spaces, and a swimming pool. Meeting facilities include two large ballrooms, two banquet halls, and special event space on the 58th floor with 180-degree panoramas.

7. ILUMINA

Sydney, Australia

Located in Sydney’s city center, across levels two, three, and four of 1 Elizabeth, Illumina features flexible halls, meeting rooms, and adaptable function spaces. Highlights include built-in highspec audiovisual equipment, such as hybrid-enabled video conferencing facilities and LED walls, pre-function areas, bars, a green room, service zones, and retractable tiered seating.

8. Jim Corbett Marriott Resort & Spa

Uttarakhand, India

Located inside India’s first national park, which is dedicated to tiger conservation, the newly opened Jim Corbett Marriott Resort & Spa features 99 rooms with views of the Malani Range and Kosi River. The resort offers four dining venues, a spa with Ayurvedic treatments, a fitness center, an outdoor pool, and two lawns for outdoor events. For meetings and events, there is a pillarless ballroom with capacity for 300 theater-style.

9. JW Marriott Hotel & Suites Saigon

Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam

Opened in September 2024, JW Marriott Hotel & Suites Saigon is part of a new dual-tower development. The property offers 305 guest rooms and more than 17,000 square feet of indoor event space including a large ballroom capable of holding 900 guests, theater-style. On-site amenities include four dining options, a fitness center, a spa, and an elevated outdoor pool.

10. JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island Resort

Hathas Finolhu, Maldives

The recently opened JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island Resort is located in Kaafu Atoll’s largest lagoon and features 80 oceanview villas with private pools, including 47 overwater pool villas. Amenities comprise seven restaurants and bars, two pools, a fitness center, beach access, and a unique overwater spa. 

11. Londoner Grand, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Macao (Conversion)

Macao, China

Londoner Grand, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Macao is a recently re-opened hotel located on the Cotai strip within the Londoner Macao complex. The 2,405-room property offers extensive event capabilities with a total of seven ballrooms, the largest of which can hold more than 5,000 guests, theater-style. Additionally, 113 breakout rooms are available.  

12. Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree

Singapore

Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree is a new 338-room property set within Singapore’s Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Its biophilic design aims to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Four event spaces are on offer, the largest of which can hold 320 guests, theater-style, a fitness center, an infinity pool, two dining options, and a signature spa.

13. Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing

Beijing, China

Mandarin Oriental Qianmen, Beijing, is a luxury escape in the traditional hutong neighborhood inside the Beijing Central Axis. The property has 42 courtyard houses for accommodation and four dining options. Wellness is a focal point of the hotel, with a fitness center, a signature spa, a tea house, and Qiyuan Healing Space. 

14. Raffles Sentosa Singapore

Singapore

Newly opened, Raffles Sentosa Singapore is the country’s first all-villa resort, featuring 62 private pool villas across over 1 million square feet of tropical hillside on Sentosa Island. The resort offers the Raffles Ballroom and Garden Room with terrace, plus smaller meeting spaces. Just 15 minutes from Singapore’s CBD, it combines privacy, nature, and full-service hospitality with tailored programs, and five dining spaces.

15. Shangri-La Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Shangri-La Phnom Penh recently opened near the Royal Palace. The brand’s first hotel in Cambodia is part of a 748-foot tri-tower development and offers 303 guest rooms. The hotel offers a large ballroom for up to 1,000 guests, complemented with six additional meeting rooms. It features amenities such as an infinity pool, spa and wellness center, and five dining options.

16. Sofitel Sydney Wentworth (Renovation)

Sydney, Australia

Reopened in October 2024 after a $44 million renovation, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth offers 27,883 square feet of event space across 15 venues. Located in Sydney’s CBD, the hotel features the historic, pillarless Wentworth Ballroom with capacity for up to 800. A full floor is dedicated to meetings and events. The hotel has 436 newly refurbished rooms and four dining venues.

17. The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok

Bangkok, Thailand

The newly opened The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok, has 260 guest rooms with panoramic views of Lumpini Park. The property features nine flexible meeting and event spaces, including the Ritz-Carlton Grand Ballroom that offers almost 15,000 square feet, and can be divided into four spaces. On-site amenities include a spa, fitness center, pool, and four culinary choices.

18. The St. Regis Shenzhen Bao’an

Shenzhen, China

The St. Regis Shenzhen Bao’an opened its doors at the beginning of March 2025 and is located on the western side of Shenzhen in the Bao’an District. It features 289 guest rooms overlooking the city skyline and bay, more than 15,000 square feet of event space, including the 7,500-square-feet pillar-less Astor Ballroom. Other highlights include four restaurant and bar options, a personalized butler service, a spa, a gym, and an infinity pool.

19. The Sundays

Whitsundays, Australia

The Sundays is a new boutique hotel opening soon on Hamilton Island, located in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. Designed as a relaxed, small-scale retreat, it offers a setting for rest and reconnection. Suitable for incentive travel programs seeking a quiet, scenic destination with access to reef activities and a laid-back island atmosphere.

20. Waldorf Astoria Osaka

Osaka, Japan

The newly opened Waldorf Astoria Osaka occupies 12 floors of a high-rise in the new Grand Green Osaka development, directly connected to Osaka Station. The hotel offers almost 12,000 square feet meeting space across 10 rooms, including a 6,071-square-foot ballroom accommodating up to 350 guests. With 248 guest rooms, three restaurants, a spa, and a wellness center, the property combines Art Deco and Japanese design.
