Sugimoto to launch Gaku Shoku Girl manga about high school girl giving a twist to school meals
The July issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine revealed on Monday that Moe Sugimoto will launch a new manga titled Gaku Shoku Girl (School Cafeteria Girl) in the magazine’s next issue on June 26.
The manga centers on high school student Meimei Kisaragi who likes to add a twist to her school meals. Her curiosity about food brings change not just to her meals, but also to the people around her.

Sugimoto’s Cells NOT at Work! manga (image right), a spinoff of Akane Shimizu’s Cells at Work! (Hataraku Saibō) manga, launched in Monthly Shonen Sirius in July 2017. The manga ended in 2021, and Kodansha published the fifth and final compiled book volume in February 2022.
Kodansha USA Publishing released the manga in English digitally.
