Story centers on greedy yet earnest locals stumbling upon rumor of sunken treasure ship

Disney+ Korea has officially added Low Life to its lineup for the second half of 2025. The new live-action series is based on The Hooligans by webtoon creator Tae-ho Yoon, and will star Seung-ryong Ryu, Se-jong Yang, and Soo-jung Lim.
Set in a coastal village near Sinan, Low Life follows a group of greedy yet earnest locals who stumble upon a rumor about a sunken treasure ship. The story unfolds as they each scheme, clash, and collaborate in pursuit of buried fortune, blending dark comedy, crime, and character-driven drama.
The series promises to deliver gritty humor and a sharp critique of greed and desperation, staying faithful to the tone of Yoon Tae-ho’s original webtoon. Low Life is slated to premiere exclusively on Disney+ Korea in the second half of 2025.
