Hanashi Media announced on Thursday that it has licensed Miraijin A’s The Abandoned Reincarnation Sage: Building a Mighty Empire of Monsters Within the Monsters’ Forest (Suterareta Tensei Kenja: Mamono no Mori de Saikyo no Daima Teikoku o Tsukuriageru) light novel series.
The company describes the light novel series:
Once hailed as a Sage, he sought peace—not glory.
At the end of a long life filled with power and prestige, a man once known as the Sage activated a reincarnation spell, hoping for nothing more than a quiet life in a new era. But when he awakens in a time where magic is no longer valued, he’s cast aside as worthless and abandoned in the Forest of Monsters… as a newborn.
Left to die, he’s miraculously saved by a kind-hearted goblin who raises him as her own. Given the name Belamus, the former Sage grows up in a monster village, far from the human world that rejected him.
Determined to repay the goblin who took him in, Belamus uses the wisdom of his past life to help the village thrive.
Now begins the tale of a once-great Sage rebuilding a nation—for monsters. The strongest kindom rises not for mankind, but for those they fear.
Miraijin A previously published the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let’s Become Novelists) website, but took down the story after Micro Magazine began publishing the story in print. Kikkaiki drew the illustrations for the novel series. Micro Magazine published the novels’ fifth volume in November 2023.
Kurikaramaru launched a manga adaptation of the story in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app in June 2020, and ended it in May 2022. Kodansha published eight compiled book volumes for the manga. Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing the manga in English, and released the eighth volume digitally in December 2022. K MANGA is also publishing the manga digitally in English.
Miraijin A’s As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill story debuted in October 2019 on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website. Kodansha publishes the light novel series with illustrations by jimmy. The manga adaptation launched in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket in June 2020. The novel series has so far inspired two television anime seasons in April and September 2024, with a third season planned.
