The June issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine revealed on Wednesday that Atsushi Kase will launch a new manga titled YakuMan in the magazine’s next issue on June 6.
The comedy manga centers on Kaede, a tough-looking yakuza, who is also very strong when it comes to fighting. But Kaede has another side that he dare not tell anyone… Kaede is also the famous Moe manga artist Maple. As he lives a two-faced life, it’s a ruthless battle in the yakuza world and in the world of manga deadlines for Kaede.

Kase’s Kuro Ageha manga, the spinoff of his Chameleon manga, ended with its 20th compiled book volume (image right) in 2023. The manga launched in Monthly Shonen Magazine in 2013.
Kase’s Chameleon gag manga about junior delinquents serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1990 to 2000. The manga was adapted into six OVA episodes which released in Japan from 1992 to 1996.
