Construction has begun on the 800-room Grand Hyatt Miami Beach Hotel, the first property to be directly connected to the Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) via a climate-controlled skybridge.
Slated to open in late 2027, the hotel will include 90,000 square feet of indoor meeting space on four dedicated floors, 10,000 square feet of outdoor event space, five restaurants, a Grand Hyatt Club Lounge, and retail space.

The city’s first Grand Hyatt property is an important milestone for the city’s convention infrastructure. While the 790-room Loews Miami Beach has served as the primary convention hotel, it is four blocks from the center and lacks direct access. Proximity to amenities is a top priority for planners who want hotels, the convention center, and restaurants all a short walk away.
Groups like the Aesthetic Society are already responding. The organization, which has held events at the MBCC in the past, will be returning in 2027.
“Being able to house attendees just steps from the meeting floor is a total game-changer for how we plan in this destination,” said Kathleen McClemmy, senior director, education and meetings for The Aesthetic Society.
OVG Partnership Extended for Convention Center Management
The City of Miami Beach has also extended its partnership with Oak View Group to continue managing the Miami Beach Convention Center for another five years.
OVG has overseen operations at the MBCC for 12 years, originally under the Spectra brand before its rebranding in 2022. OVG played a pivotal role in the venue’s $640 million renovation and expansion.
Today, the revitalized MBCC includes 500,000 square feet of exhibition space, a 60,000-square-foot ballroom, four junior ballrooms, and 84 breakout rooms.
Beyond the building, the MBCC campus includes Pride Park’s six acres of green space and three acres at Collins Canal Park, both of which are available for outdoor events.
