Hello Kitty’s Indian Instagram announced on Sunday that it is hosting a Hello Kitty and Friends activity area in Phoenix Market City, Chennai all through May 2025. The activity area is a part of the Phoenix Market City Fun Fair and features a Hello Kitty mascot, carousel, and more.
Sanrio entered the Indian market in March 2024 with licensing agency Dream Theater. The company plans to double the Hello Kitty and Friends brand’s collaborations in the country year-on-year as of 2025. Soon after, e-commerce-based jewelry company BlueStone launched its Hello Kitty and Friends line of fine jewelry featuring characters such as Kuromi, Keropi, and Cinnamoroll in yellow gold, rose gold, and white gold. Indian designer Aneeth Arora launched his Hello Kitty-themed line of clothing at his Hello péro runway show at Lakmé Fashion Week on October 9.
The Hello Kitty and Friends YouTube channel is streaming episodes of the anime in English weekly, and the episodes are available in India. The Hindi YouTube channel for Hello Kitty and Friends began streaming the Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures series of anime shorts with a Hindi dub on October 7.
K-Beauty brand Innisfree launched its “Pompompurin Canola Honey Lip Balm” in India in late March and launched its “Cinnamoroll” range of “No Sebum Mineral Powder” in mid-January.
The Japan Internation Cooperation Agency (JICA) streamed a Hindi video featuring Hello Kitty for its “Achhi Aadat” campaign in November 2021.
